Dom has lowkey suffered from “Corona Virus” since the first movie. The music box was a nice and different touch. It worked. The roads not taken watch full hd. Leo wird allerdings von Javier Bardem gespielt, es handelt sich also um eine Tochter und einen Vater, dem es „gerade nicht so gut geht. “ Dass der etwa 50-Jährige Anzeichen einer fortgeschrittenen Demenzerkrankung aufweist, wird nicht ausgesprochen. Das Unausgesprochene, mehr noch das Ungelebte, also jene Abzweigungen, die man ihm Leben nicht genommen hat, sind zentrale Themen von Sally Potters neuem Film „The Roads Not Taken“. Leos Schlafzimmer geht direkt zur Hochbahn raus. Manchmal wird das einzige Fester komplett von dem vorbeifahrenden Zug ausgefüllt. Je nach Perspektive scheint sich dann das Zimmer an der Bahn vorbei zu bewegen, ein schönes Bild für eine Welt, in der nichts mehr so läuft, wie gewohnt. Wenn Leo einen Stift zur Hand nimmt, bleibt das Blatt leer. Vor sich hindämmernd formuliert er nur noch Stichworte, Namen und Orte, Erinnerungsfetzen aus der Vergangenheit, die dann als Flashbacks auch mit dem Publikum geteilt werden. „Dolores“ (Salma Hayek) entpuppt sich als Schmerzensfrau und große Liebe. „Griechenland“ steht für dem Ort, wo das Raubtier Leo sich in Rita (Laura Linney) verbiss. Lauter mythologische Anspielungen Leos Hund hieß übrigens Nestor, wie der beste Freund des griechischen Sagenhelden Iason. Auch für dessen mangelnde Treue zu Medea mussten bekanntlich jene am meisten büssen, die gar nichts dafür konnten. Und dann kam Molly, was angeblich eine Koseform von Maria ist und hier jetzt einfach mal so stehenbleibt. Schnitzeljagden mit sprechenden Namen sind nicht die einzige heitere Note, mit der Potter das mitunter ganz schön Bleierne von Bardems Performance kontrastiert. Eine, von der Regisseurin selbst und wirklich aufbauend komponierte Kammermusik deutet immer wieder an, dass Eltern, die zu Pflegefällen werden, zum Leben einfach dazugehören. „The Roads Not Taken“ ist insgesamt kein schlechter Film. Pflegerischen Alltag, zum Beispiel mühsame Toilettengänge, spart Potter zwar aus, aber was sie erzählt, verrät Detailkenntnis und Empathie. Elle Fannings Spiel ist so nuanciert, dass sie eine Bären absolut verdient hätte. Aber leider provoziert hier ein Film einmal mehr moralische Fragen, die dann nur auf der Gefühlsebene beantwortet werden. So hat der Dichter Leo seine Rita und Molly kurz nach der Geburt verlassen, um „ungestört zu arbeiten. “ Etwas zynisch könnte man sagen, dass hier das Level dessen, was man von einem Erzeuger erwarten darf, so weit nach unten gezogen wird, dass es irgendwann reicht, nur einmal den Namen der erwachsenen Tochter fehlerfrei auszusprechen, damit sie einem unter Tränen alles verzeiht. Auch hier hat die große Sally Potter zwar noch ein paar feine Brüche eingebaut. Etwas dünn bleibt das alles trotzdem.
